This tutorial allows you to try things out by copying and pasting the HTML directly into a word - processor and saving your work as an HTML file.

While this can be a good way of testing things out be careful of at least two potential problems:

(A)  the pasted file may contain some extra spaces that prevent the page from appearing as it was written.  You will have to eliminate the unnecessary spaces yourself.

(B)  some browsers don't easily support the copy command (highlight text, choose EDIT COPY, go to word-processor, go to EDIT PASTE).  For example, copying and pasting text from the browser window in Explorer 4.0 comes out often junk.   In order to take advantage of the demo HTML provided, it might be wise not to view the tutorial with the Explorer 4.0 browser.

[Note:  web pages look different in different browsers.]

(1)  Copy and paste the demo HTML from the tutorial into your word-processor and save it as an HTML file.  Go to your browser and view it.  Do this while both programs are open so that you can switch back and forth between them.  Save the file as "Demo.html".

(2)  Create your own simple HTML file from scratch.  Bookmark the file in the browser and then go back and open the file from the bookmark.   Save the file as "Own1.html".

(3)  Copy the background image "a-montage10.jpg" from disk to your own and use it as the background image for your web-page.  This is illustrated in the Advanced section for this lesson. Save your work as "Own2.html".

(4)  Experiment with the use of colors according to the hexidecimal code.  You may want to copy and paste the code into your web-page directly from the tutorial (refer to page two of the Advanced section).  Save your work as "Own3.html".

When you are finished, you will have created four pages of HTML.  Please be sure to have at least four sentences in the body of your web-page in order to get full credit for the exercise.

I guess this is what you wanted. I can't find a tutorial
